Wheaton Academy began in 1853 when a group of abolitionists founded Illinois Institute to educate their children. Today it is a private Christian high school located in West Chicago, Illinois, with a mission to nurture growth in students through relationships, excellence, and service to the glory of God. To ensure that the school’s rich history is both accessible and preserved for future generations, Wheaton Academy has partnered with HistoryIT to digitally present historical artifacts and curated stories on this dynamic site.
