A sketch of the new gymnasium

LeTourneau Gymnasium

After its move to Prince Crossing, the Academy used many of the existing buildings but also saw the need for additional ones. In the fall of 1946, ground was broken for a new gymnasium. It opened on March 18, 1948, when the Academy hosted a basketball game between members and alumni. The barn-shaped athletic facility was built through the efforts and financial support of parents John Oury and R.G. LeTourneau, after whom the building was named.
